Does SA have any casinos? If not, where is the nearest casino to San Antonio? I am looking for a place to play the tables, maybe an indian casino. Are casinos even allowed in TX? If not, which neighboring state has casinos. Thanks

The one in Eagle Pass is trashy!!!! Ummm it is on the border need I say more? I would go to LA. I usually go to Harrah's in New Orleans. Even though I only play craps it is still fun to wander around Bourbon and Canal Street. Maybe TX will one day legalize gambling and in turn fix the budget shortfall this state has dug itself into to.

Lol Kickapoo is not trashy. What a dumb statement just because it's on the border and you think its trashy. There are mainy slots and a poker room. Last time i went they didnt even have blackjack so options are limited there. It's a small casino but it's not trashy. I mean the casinos you mentioned in Louisiana aren't bad either but that's not close. You might as well just fly to Vegas. There are casinos in Oklahoma the same distance and just as good as new Orleans.

Look here sweetheart you cannot even begin to compare Eagle Pass, Texas to NOLA. Just because you do not agree with a statement does not make it dumb. If you are going to utilize your own resources (time off work, gambling money, drinking money, food, gas, plane tickets, etc.) you are better off going to a place like NOLA not a border town with literally nothing else to do there accept hang out in a small, cramped "casino". So....to the OP go to NOLA. You will thank me when you return.

Well, I've never been to the one in Eagle Pass, but from what I've heard it is pretty much a couple of doublewide trailers connected together.

If you go the Louisiana route, I've always enjoyed this place in Lake Charles. http://www.ldlcasino.com/

Not quite as far as New Orleans, and the place is gorgeous with plenty to do and eat. I helped pay their electric bill a few weeks ago.

I've got some suggestions on some casinos that I enjoyed:

Coushatta Casino Resort in Louisiana...won a bunch of money there on the slots. Great atmosphere and I really enjoyed myself.

Riverwind Casino in Norman, OK. HUGE...as most of them are in Oklahoma

WinStar Casino in Thackerville, OK right near the border.

I've never been to Eagle Pass, and don't really want to. lol

yeah i understand; but his question was whether there were any close casinos, not any top notch casino's a plane ticket away. if that were the case, i would have mentioned new orleans also.

did i even try to compare eagle pass to NOLA? nope. i'll stick to my statement, i never mentioned kickapoo an upscale resort area, but it is a casino where you can still drive a few hours, gamble and win some money (like poker table games, etc) and come back home if you decide to.

NOLA is fun, other casinos are just as good though as the other poster mentioned like oklahoma and coushatta. maybe even go a little more east of NOLA to buloxi. i've been all over the U.S. and to pretty much every casino. maybe the border town of eagle pass is trashy, but kickapoo isn't. it's just small. it sounds like you've only been to harrahs in NOLA. if ones going to utilize all of that time like you say, ones better off going to vegas.you aren't really understanding the point i was making, which was if there was a close casino close by, but it's ok....

Texas should just open up a few nice Indian casino/hotels. Lots of good areas in the state where casinos would go well.
