Yes you can take a loose diamond to a jeweler that does setting and they will mount on the ring. I bought my ring at Jared and then mounted the stone that I bought elsewhere.

If you are a member of USAA when you log into their website there is a section for shopping and there is a jewelry / loose stone section. When you buy they will ship to your house and you have to be there to sign for it.
