Even with all that said, the gang activity is isolated in small pockets of the inner west side and inner east side. As for home invasions, SA has it lite compared to both Dallas and Houston. The horror stories I could tell you about those cities. I won't because I'm not in the game of blasting other cities in order to make mine look better. Crime is everywhere, in every city, town, village.
I think you are doing a great disservice by being an alarmist with that post. SA is one of the safest cities in this country, safer than Houston and Dallas combined. Outside of those isolated gang zones, the city and metro area is safe.

Ihave to agree with Insomniac on this one...siting a local TV station (KENS) locally is like siting ANY "local" news station from anywhere in the world...you need to remember the slogan they ALL live by..."If it bleeds, it leads"!

The only thing that I could not stand about SA when we llived there was the drivers. Hogging the left lanes on 410, 35,37 and 10. Not using turn signals and if it was raining, might as well call a snow day. It seems today that all cities have issues with crime and high school gang wannabees, hard to get away from that But driving south on 37 around the Olmos Basin looking at the city scape it seems to smile at you, saying "Welcome to my beautiful city"

haha. maybe those were transplanted californians?! when i moved fr dallas to los angeles, my friend eric (dallas to los angeles also) told me to pull up into the middle of the intersection for left hand turn. i was like "what! are you crazy?!. If you don't do this, the people behind you will not get to make their left turns. i never recalled being taught that in tx drivers ed, but extremely commonplace over there and probably other bigger cities. everyone should do this, as far as i am concerned.

couple of other "little companies" that have their HQ here are at&t and Clearchannel.. I'm pretty sure most people haven't heard of them though...
Plus this place is growing by leaps and bounds every day and if anything, it would be nice to slow down so the infrastructure can catch up.. I'm actually looking into moving somewhere that has a Much slower pace and definitely colder weather. It's currently 89 according to my computer and that's just not what the 6th of October is supposed to be.. or at least not for me

San Antonio ROCKS!
The roadways are the most comprehensive in the nation.
The people are cool.
The food is good.
The homes are cheap (except for the property tax): see reason #1
The Alamo is real.
The malls are everywhere.
Toyota invested billions in San Antonio.
The Riverwalk is real.
Seaworld and Six Flags invested millions in San Antonio.
