Worst roads in Texas?
What does a person from San Antonio need to go to Austin to purchase?
I thought Ft. Worth was the biggest cow town in Texas?
Id this drought. IT is ugly here right now but we are in the worst drought EVER so hopefully our fortunes will change.

As far as murders, I think we are still below other large cities. I've had my car broken into a couple times, but mostly because of my stupidity. Leaving my purse on the car seat in broad daylight. I don't know the stats on home invasions with all cities. I feel safe here despite the above post.
The only thing I don't enjoy here are the dry dry summers killing the scenery. It would be an oddity one summer to see lush, green grass in neighborhoods. I'm not used to driving in other cities, so I can't compare our drivers with other cities. I would enjoy some prettier scenery, though.

Ammunition (Cabelas). I also had to go to Austin to buy paints and supplies when I was doing plastic modeling a few years ago. Nobody here carried what I needed nor did they have a selection. Also for outdoor equipment, I wasnt finding what I needed at Academy or Bass Pro. Had to go to REI for boots.

I've lived in San Antonio for 12 years and don't know of anyone who has had their house broken into or who has been the victim of a violent crime.
I would say the negatives of living here to me is the sprawl, but that's every.single.city in Texas. Also the summers are a little TOO much summer, but again, that's mostly all of Texas.
San Antonio has SO much more personality than either Dallas or Houston. Dallas you could just put in any state - it's completely generic. Houston isn't far behind, and Austin's getting that way (with the exception of the downtown area).
It seems to me you either learn to enjoy what SA has to offer, or you just hate it. I've learned to enjoy what SA has to offer.

When you pay 5,000 a year in property taxes that's enough to make me puke. I don't pay 5,000 but I know plenty that do that's why I live out in the country.

Well I just found this question and was gonna post a rant about San Antonio anyway considering the fact that I might be moving out in a few weeks. So I'm glad I found this and will post the negatives
1. The Weather - This summer has had the worst heat I think I'ved ever felt in my life. I've never felt so much heat and humidity all in one great package than in San Antonio. Even the hottest days in Florida (my home state) never had this much heat. At least of what I could remember. If you actually were here this summer, even just putting your hands out into the sun's light can burn.
2. Downtown Snobs - Don't get me started. The people downtown are so used to the poor and unfortunate coming into their buildings for bathrooms or questions that they dismiss everybody or maybe just black people as one of them. I don't know how many times I've been disrespected downtown for stupid reasons. And I dress pretty properly. I mean I don't dress like a skater or gangster.
3. Segregation - I made a pretty popular thread about the city's segregation a while back. I had just noticed it. How one race lives in one part of town such as the east. And the other the west. And the only integrated area of San Antonio was the North Side. I didn't understand then. I still don't understand it now.
4. The Morals/Values of Kids & Teens - I don't understand how almost all of my class peers have either smoked, drunk, or have lost their virginity. I've never heard or seen that in my life. For the first time in my life, I was the only one in my class that has never done any of that stuff. And I'm not a nerd or anything like that. If you ever seen me, I'm just an normal kid. I don't understand how some parents here in the city have no discipline on their kids. There's these 2 twin 5-year-old boys that I rode the bus with regularly from school. Because our school was an pre-school,elementary, middle & high school. They had the most foul mouths I have ever heard. They said things that normal people don't say at least into their 20s. And all I think was that this was obviously the job of the parents. Who most likely let them watch whatever they watch and say whatever they wanted around their kids. But these kids aren't the only ones that are in theory, messed up. I met lots of kids who told me stories of their families stabbing other family members and things like that. It's just not right. I used to be shocked at these stories. But now I've come to the point where nothing surprises me.
5. The "Supposed" Educational Leaders - Principles, Asst. Principles alike. I've been to 2 different middle schools and 3 different high schools in the city. Not because I'm a bad student but because my family moves around alot. Of all the public schools I been to, none of the principles seem to actually like the kids. They treat us like common criminals. I don't understand how you could become a principle and not like students. And this is not just the principle. The principle's views must affect the staff as well because school staff in SA (with the exception of the janitors and guidance counselors), are just rude and inconsiderate.
6. Representing your side - I really don't like this one. Teens and some immature adults in San Antonio take it upon them to rep what side of SA they were either born in or currently live in. It's very irritating when some teens write in bathroom stalls 'Southside B****' or something similar. Or gangster always crying what side they are from. Does it really matter? We're all in the same city.
Anyway, I'm just ranting like I said. The weather is getting to me. And I'm going to FL to visit Friday so it's been on my mind non-stop. The palm trees and wind blowing them just like in Orlando has been killing me.

3. I'm gonna finish that later because my time is almost up on here...

That's ludicrous. To make a blanket statement such as this, wreaks of ignorance.

I think her/him attitude is what makes them dismiss her/him.
