Thumbs up You are all so refreshing!!!

I have been lurking a bit because of my curiosity re: San Antonio.
We were a military family (retired two years ago) and have met so many military families who were stationed in SA and they all loved it! Most wanted to live there forever. I always asked these folks why they enjoy SA so much and the TOP reason is the friendly people who live in SA. That is almost always the first thing I hear. Also the pride people take in living in Texas, low cost of living, etc.
We have never been to Texas, (with the exception of driving through Amarillo). Never had a chance to get stationed there, but I have always been so curious. I can understand now, coming to your forum how ultra friendly everyone is here and how helpful. Also the pride really shines through!! Also, everyone here is SO positive about SA!!! I go to other state forums on occasion (mostly where we have been stationed in the past) and the negativity is overwhelming!! Here, it's just so refreshing to read so many positive posts.
We are in Germany right now for another 2 1/2 years (my husband works civil service here) and we are considering moving to NM because my family lives in northern NM, but, geez, SA has so many appealing traits! Just from reading such great posts, I have done some research on the area and I cannot believe how affordable it is there (besides property tax, but it really equals out after not paying state tax and very affordable housing!) But mostly, the friendliness of people is what really is making me take a closer look at SA. We have friends who live there now and they think it's the best place in the world. Everytime I receive photos from them they are just smilin' away and look so content and happy.
I just want to really compliment all of you on your very positive attitudes and I so enjoy reading your posts!!!

What a nice post. Thanks for that! If you do come to San Antonio, you would be welcomed with open arms. Lots of military folks here in all stages of career from starting to retirement. We moved here in January and I moved around a lot as a child, this has been my favortie and easiest move ever. I would be more than happy to stay here!!!! What part of Germany are you in? My brother-in-law lived there but now is in Belguim moving to Switzerland! My husband's father was military and they were in Germany too. Thanks again for your nice post and if anything come visit us and see what you think before you decide on your move!!!!!!

Remember when it's time to retire, Southwest Airlines goes from SA to New Mexico on a regular basis.
Would you rather be in a place you love to live with ease of travel to visit family, or live with ease of travel to get to the place you would love to live?

Your the kind of people we allow in on a regular basis. Consider your visa approved to enter San Antonio.
