don't get a pool!!!
I have one and I have been fighting algae all summer This summer has been the worst, I have spent more time working in the pool than enjoying it.
Sorry I don't know a good pool company in SA. Gary Pools has been around forever but I don't anything about them.

I have to admit that this summer HAS been a pain in the rear for ANYONE with a pool...in or above ground, it is true that this summer has been far more maintenance than enjoyment...but we still love ours. I LIKE being able to go enjoy as early or late as we want without crowds, hours or regulations to work around...that being said, if you are looking for an above ground pool, i highly recommend "Above Ground Pools" on Wye Ave. We use the Synergy products...a wonderful, once a week program that keeps things very nice. Of course this year has also required a LOT of extra shock to keep things balanced out with all the rain, but this is not a normal summer for SA...either in rainfall OR heat. I think once we get back to those blazing days of llllloooooonnnnnggggg summers here in SA...you would be happy to have one!

Kieth Zars is the best - if not he is top two. It all depends on what you are looking for. I would highly recommend his work and his reputation.

Keith Zars did our pool also. They are a very professional company to work with and any issues I had were addressed promptly. I had it put in last summer and it's been a delight. I got the salt water system and there is very little maintenance. Mainly emptying skimmers weekly/twice weekly and backwashing monthly. Good luck!

Zars is the biggest. They do good work. River Oaks Pools puts in some of the most beautiful ones I've ever seen.
Above ground pools are a maintenance nightmare and hurt the home's value when selling.

I don't know if it hurts the value when selling because it definitely makes your property taxes go up. My parents had an above ground pool, it was very nice with a cabana and deck all the way around and it was kinda sunken so it was level with the ground. They had it covered for years because the grandkids got older and didn't use it. Anyhow...... they had to finally take it down because they were being taxed an extra $11,000 for it.
Now, I do agree on those cheapy above ground things from Walmart, they are an eye sore and a maintenance nightmare.

wow, they tax them? good thing they never knew about mine, not that I ever had one of course... anyone can look in my back yard, nothing but trees and nice green sod
so how did they know about it to tax it? and that was an $11K increase in the home value? or an $11K increase in actual taxes owed? Either way I would fight it because a pool usually has no value or actually decreases the value of the house by eliminating a lot of buyers.. that's for an above ground pool, the kind that look sorta nice and have decks and all that. something that might've been in my back yard for years, but there's no proof of that...
