FWIW. The lady at the extension service said that trying to spray your tree to get rid of the Aphids was real PIA and didn't recomend it for anyone but commercial growers.

The aphids are eating the sugars out of the leaves. Once the leaves drop it will all be over. Except for the raking and picking up pecans. My pecans are smaller than usual this year but they sure are tasty.

I live in the Chicago suburbs and this stuff is EVERYWHERE! I have a pin oak in the backyard and it has small [1/4 "] or so round fuzzy brownish orange things stuck all over it's leaves. They fall off [leaves and round things] and they are everywhere. Could this be the problem all over Chicagoland or is it something totally different. It is driving everyone nuts! You can not leave your car on the driveway for even 5 minutes. You cannot park you car in an open top lot with NO trees for even 5 minutes. What to do? What is this stuff? Is this going to happen every year? I have never noticed it before this year.
