David is a daily runner - 8 to 10 miles. In the area we are moving "from" there are places with paved walk/bike trails that have a fair amount to tall green stuff around for some shade. Any thing remotely like that here? I did not notice any bike paths - any biking groups that are not made up entirely of people under 50?? AND - Donna has been doing some SPRINT length triathlons and wonders if there are any in the area at that length - less than a mile swim, 10 to 15 mile bike and 5K run??

Thanks for any help - this is a big part of our lives (although it is not a make or break deal when 3 SA grandsons are in the pile!!)

I would recommend McAllister park which is located just to the north of the San Antonio airport.

This thread reminds me that I noticed the other day a new store that specializes in triathlete merchandise is opening in a new strip center along the eastbound service of 1604. I don't recall the exact location, but it's somewhere between I-10 and Huebner.

Do you always talk about yourselves in the third person?

Jimmy doesn't like that!

Cheers! M2

Brackenridge Park may also be an option - might be more shade there....

There's also that park on Bandera, just inside 1604...can't recall the name.
On the Southside, the Mission trail is now open.

There's a cycling group that is coordinated through Bike World on Broadway. They're a huge group with a diversity of ages, they do a ride every Thursday night through town.

O. P. Schnabel Park is the one. Entrance is located where Bandera runs into Braun.
