Wow. Totally makes my crappy day of having my door dinged in seem really stupid.

In any case, sorry for the crappy day and hope you're husband gets something soon.

Hey TexasNick, it was mamatotex97 who's husband lost his job. And I'm sorry about yours. That sticks.

no, hubby is not a federal employee. (retail management) He went to work this morning and was let go. Ironically the one thing his supervisor said to him before he fired him was "how is your wife doing with her cancer diagnoses". Hubby responded with "she's ok, we don't officially know anything yet" and was met with a response of "you're fired".

True story. I can't make this stuff up.

Last April he was hired as a manager in training. My hubby has a 20 year grocery management background but took this because you do what you have to when unemployed. When hired he was promised insurance and a bonus structure. This changed several times and each month it was something new. He was never actually made a manager but went from store to store, never received the managers pay and never had the opportunity to even qualify for a bonus. They did not provide him with insurance benefits until six months of employment despite being told 30 days and then 3 months. Two months ago they told him he would be promoted and again they said the rules changed.

When he was fired my husband asked why and their reason was "sales are down". Now if he isn't actually the manager why is he the one getting fired?

The company you ask Moderator cut: see comment

I have no problem sharing who the company is. They deserve any bad publicity that they get.

I'm sorry to hear that. Bill Miller's is hiring manager trainees and pays above the industry average.
