Here's to the fool that drove past high water barricades at Cassin Rd & IH35 today while there was an ongoing vehicle recovery operation by SAFD (occupant drown). There were SAPD units at the scene that promptly arrested him and impounded his vehicle. Future Darwin Award candidate here. The man said "all I wanted to do was get home".

Looks like a Grand Cherokee in the video. I don't own a jeep nor do I want to but those seem to have turned into mall cruisers for soccer moms over the past decade. I don't think they even have solid front axles anymore.

If I was going to attempt a such dumb act, I would at least start with a heavier vehicle. News article said the jeep in the video weighs 2000 lbs but I think it weighs more than that.
