I have been having intermittent connections since February. Now 3 modems, two cable rewires later and never ending phone calls to TWC I now have a very slow connection.

have they checked the outside line? there's no way I'd be paying anything for that sort of "service"

I know this is going to sound like tech support, but is your modem plugged directly into your computer, or is it going through a router (wireless or otherwise)? If it's going through a router, try connecting it directly to the computer to see what kind of signal you get. If it's better, you probably have a bad router. If it's already hooked directly to your machine, I'd have to agree with rd2007.

that's a good point slaleman, routers occasionally need an unplug reboot. mine did a few days ago..

might also want to bring up a command prompt (windows key + r) and type cmd
then enter ipconfig /flushdns
I do this occasionally just to keep things flowing as fast as possible

edit: you can type ipconfig /? to find out more about this command and pretty much every other command you can make with ipconfig
