I am so sorry for your loss, but grateful for your wonderful memories of time that you spent together and the joy that you two were able to share during her time here on earth.

I am sure she is dancing in heaven now that she is free of the physical limitations that she suffered thru here on earth, and smiling knowing that you are thinking of here today and sharing what a wonderful person she is with those of use that did not get to meet her. It is a blessing to touch lives of people you have never gotten to meet.

God bless her family and you both at this time of loss.

Thank you, everyone, for your kind and healing replies.
Yes, as many of you said, I cherish the fact that we shared a special friendship and I am indeed happy for her and her sweet release, even though there is that part of me that grieves that I didn't get to see her one last time.... yet, glad that we by mere chance (??hmmmm) found each other again after all those years.....

She lived with such dignity and class, and it appears she left this world in the same way.....

thank you again.....

You say you were the class clown in the group. That makes me think you had the ability to make people smile and laugh and feel better. In your communication with her you probably said something to make her smile and remember the good times. You probably gave her some good moments that helped her through that particular day and cheer her up a little bit if even for a moment.
I hope when it is my time maybe some friend can do for me what you did for her. Just make me smile for awhile.
I feel sorry for your loss, but you gave her all you could. You were her friend and I'm sure you made her smile.
