So, your personal needs are more important, than the other citizens who are called for service? There are some valid reasons a juror could be excused.


A single trial may impanel only 12 jurors, but in a county like Bexar, there may be ten new trials in a given day, especially when you consider it's not only criminal cases, but civil, too. Then, there is San Antonio Municipal Court, which culls the County jury pool, if they have a jury trial. And don't forget about Juvenile Court, too. They may need some.


And to get down to those 12 jurors, they may screen a pool of 50, sometimes even more. So you would be talking about a need for a few hundred people per day in Bexar County.
