I'll cheer for the Jags after I cheer for the Marlins who are also coming to SA!

You are being sarcastic.

(Sorry, it's hard to tell on a computer.)

Yeah, my fault. Guess I could have included an icon or some keyword. Yes I am being extremely sarcastic.

Either the Jags or the Vikings will be coming to SA. Jerry Jones can't stop it. Every other owner would love to **** JJ off and vote for the move to SA.

SA will never support an NFL team. Just won't happen, too small a market. Plain
and simple. You really think we could compete with LA??
Simple math.....
There is far more corporate support in SA than you are aware of. The SA/Austin metro area is loaded with it.

There is no such thing as the SA/Austin metro area and if you have to use a city 80 miles away that wouldnt care for a SA team anyway to prop your argument for the city. Chances are you aren't getting one.

A city that is 80 miles (or more) is used to prop other cities that already have teams. The area is determined by TV coverage and the likelihood of those people willing to make the drive. And to assume that the Austin area could care less about SA getting a team, you are wrong. You don't need a majority or even a large minority of fans to make the franchise successful. A small minority works well. Even in Dallas, the majority of the population could care less about the Cowboys, let alone a hockey franchise. But, include the surrounding areas, it makes a big difference.

1. Austin and San Antonio are separate TV markets and separate metros.

2. Austin has the Longhorns, they might as well be a pro football team in terms of popularity.

3. Dallas is light years ahead of SA in every category. Affluence, corporate presence, etc., not to mention population. DFW is the fourth largest metro in the country. Despite how much people like the brag about the city of San Antonio's population, the metro barely has over two million people. It's barely larger than Orlando, Las Vegas, and San Jose. Smaller than Sacramento, Portland, and Riverside.

Austin and SA are two separate TV Markets but that only expands the fan base potential (see Chicago, San Diego, NYC, Wash DC, etc). SA is in the top 10 largestest cities - not only in population (due to metro area), but also because of growth, potential and direction. Austin having the Longhorns does not take away from anything regarding the NFL potential (that is nonsense). Dallas is a much larger metro area (DFW), but with the AUSA metro area (distance is between FW and Dallas are comparable). Don't get hung up on actual city population. St. Louis, Buffalo & Jacksonville has a much smaller population than San Antonio (city limits).
