So now that it's blazing HOT, how's the CPS Energy Peak Saver Program? (house)

Anyone who is on CPS Energy Peak Saver Program (CPS Thermostat),...Are they regulating your electrical usage during the day?(hottest part of the day) Just asking, cause I may join.

if they have adjusted the thermostat, I haven't noticed. I leave the AC at the same temp all day becasue I am home most of the day. I haven't gotten a bill this month, that may tell the story in more detail.

They haven't shut mine off.....yet. They did a few times last year. It wasn't that big of a deal.

I noticed the other day it was in 'savings' mode (weekday, about 4;30 pm...but if I hadn't walked by, I probably wouldn't have noticed. Unfortunately, it does not have a memory feature, where you could see how often it has been cycled off.

We were cycled almost every day this past week except for Friday. I have it set to *83 when we're away at work and to *78 about 2 hours before we come home. It only manages to get down to *80 when they cycle it and then only after about 6pm do they release us from cycling.

I can't complain because I did sign up for the service knowing that our thermostat would be cycled under certain conditions and I love that I got the device for free. Plus we save money with the ability to set different temperatures (away, home, weekend).

To avoid the *80 issue I've been having I may have to set the temp to go lower earlier in the day to allow it to cool down to the *78 we want. We have no trees around the house, so the additional sun & heat no doubt increases the "load" on the compressor. Those of you with trees will likely not notice much variance in temps when being cycled.

If you're curious if you should get one, ask yourself if you mind someone else cycling your compressor, especially on some of the hottest days. Consider if your house is shaded somewhat by trees or totally exposed to the sun.

The Honeywell thermostat CPS provided (Utility Pro series) is easy to program too.

We were just talking about this today...we haven't noticed it happening yet this year at all. Last year, if anything at all, I would just about start to feel a little warm by the time it would cycle back on again, but just barely.

I joined over the weekend. A big step up from our Trane inaccurate analog thermostat.

Great service, the thermostat alone has a ton of features including weekday/weekend settings for your temperature, which include the ability to control your thermostat from your computer or smart from while away from home. It is also a snazzy upgrade over the low grade version that most people have today. As far as the time saver program, you will not even notice, I am a teacher and had the summer off and did not notice any change in anything but our electricity bill which was about $115 a month for a 3600 sq foot house, in the dead of the summer. The temperature was 75 pretty much all day.

They wouldn't let me utilize this program. They'll only provide one thermostat (I have 2 and full dampers). Oh well,I tried. I have programmable thermos anyway, so the only thing that I would've gained (besides maybe a little savings) is the ability to program via internet. Wife is SAHM anyway and can do it.

If they cycled, I didn't noticed it, and I agree is a great "gadget" with lots of features.
