yes from what the CPs rep told me the CPS Energy's Peak Saver Program
is controlled by a computer system, during the months of May to Sept 3pm to 7pm Monday thru Friday 10mins every half hour or something like that.

I wouldn't mind having the energy guard, but we are renters and not homeowners, and from what the rep told me today is that you'd have to be a homeowner to qualify for the energy guard program.

Default Budget Plan

I'm currently on the budget plan. I pay 180.00 a month regardless of usage. The amount was determined on the average from the prior year. At the end of the year(I started on August) if I have paid more than I owed I will have the credit issued to me through my CPS bill. If I owe I will have to pay at the end of my year. So far my bill has been 220.00-August, 150.00-Sept., and 90.00-Oct.

I've done this for years. I love it! Right now mine is at $145 a month. In March it will readjust.

The Energy Guard thermostat is a different one. Actually, it's pretty ugly. But it works fine. You handle the programming online. You can make temporary adjustments online, or at the thermostat.

However, they don't have any apps that control it for your phone, you would need to use a browser. That's a shame, as I thought they had an app.

I rent an apartment and last month they installed the programmable thermostats in each apt. I like the idea that now it will switch to heat if needed (or vice versa). I have not set up my online account so you can change the settings from another location..but it's a great idea. It's all about saving energy and if CPS has to shut down my a/c etc for a few minutes it won't matter to me and I probably
would not even notice it anyway. Our complex agreed to join the program. 4 settings, awake, leave, return and sleep...so easy. I'm retired so my settings are only for awake and sleep.
