IMO WOAI 4 news is the worst! Beamer is ok but john Gerard is the absolutely terrible. Shioban Anders is even worse. They rarely cover anything of substance.
Mostly fluff that they repeat 3 times a night. I wonder how/why they fired Jennifer Broome?
Lauren Lea? Really, your kidding right????
No wonder they are in last place as is NBC nationally!!
IMHO...

If you dislike it so much, why watch it? There are 3 other English language news stations in town and 2 Spanish language news stations.

IMO, John Gerard was an improvement. It's Steve Browne on KSAT who I can't stand.

I like WOAI the best, then KSAT, then KENS.

"John Gerard is the absolutely terrible"

uh...sentence please?

I watch WOAI all the time. Their morning show is the funnest to watch, the 4-zone forecast is very interesting and informative, and frankly, they've got some hotties broadcasting the news.

That looks like most of the sentences on their website. It's headache-inducing to read news stories there. But they seem to have info posted long before mysa.com does......even if you do have to interpret the story somewhat.

Sorry for the grammar, I was typing on a laptop. I don't watch WOAI anymore because I happen
to think they are awful.
Maybe I'm spoiled because I moved from a major market, NYC. I love SA but hard to
compare the Express News to the NY Times and our local news to that of a major market
where they typically groom the next network star and cover substantive topics.
Just my opinion..

Delaine Mathieu and Elsa Ramon offset whatever faults they may have. All is forgiven.

My husband called him "Steve Browne, the clown of the town". I happen to like him. I like his initiative in growing pumpkins, and televising the results, as well as other plantings. I find him "approachable". I am watching him as I post. Tomorrow AM cloudy at 33 degrees.

I agree with the OP. I posted on another SA thread about coming from Detroit, where the local news had "professional" newscasters and meteorologists. San Antonio, by comparison, is more "laid back", to put it politely. My preference is KSAT, I like Ursula Pari and her "crew", with the exception of Greg Simmons. My feelings of him are validated by other postings on another SA thread regarding the local news stations.

I watch KSAT and my second choice would be KENS. I never cared too much for WOAI or Fox. WOAI always has exciting previews for its top stories and then turns out to be a bore.
