Hi guys,
I'm relocating to San Antonio next mth and it looks like my office is around the Balcones Heights, Leon Valley, and Castle Hills area. I will have to visit client homes sometimes...is the area safe?

Thanks!

Define safe? none of those areas are terribly bad. Balcones heights and Castle Hills arnt the best areas of the city, but in no way are the "bad". Leon Valley is a decent area.

Castle Hills is actually pretty nice. Balcones Heights has some pockets that are a little sketchy, but I drive around there a lot and never felt unsafe.

Hi,

I currently live in Leon Valley, but prior to moving here, I lived in Balcones Heights for 8 years. I was a single mother in a home for most of that time and didn't live in fear. There are some "areas" in each that are obviously more run down, but nothing I would worry about during the daylight hours. Castle Hills is a nice area. Use common sense, keep your doors locked, don't leave your car running with the keys, don't leave valuables, etc., and you should be fine. Welcome to our city!

P.S. Watch your driving speed in each of these. All 3 are notorious for their speed zones and generous ticketing.

Have you ever been to Castle Hills before? That area is a great place to live in.

Inside the loop? I wouldn't want to live there

Have several customers in the area - quite nice. There's lots of nice areas inside of Loop 410, and some really great prices to be had - and THAT is comin' from someone that hates living in a large city!

Indeed, because everything inside 410 is "ghetto" and "crime ridden". Absolutely.

You not wanting to live there is simply a preference.
