It's exotic because it was illegal between 2007 and November 2011 to sell or produce horse meat in the USA.

I didn't know it was illegal here. I wouldn't eat it again but it didn't taste bad just had a different texture to it. It was really expensive too.

Me and my friend had walked into the restaurant not knowing that they only served horse meat but after finding out we had decided to give it a try.

Speaking of which, are there any good Asian stores in San Antonio? Actually is there an Asian district somewhere? I don't recall ever finding one when I lived there. Up in OK City they have a humongous Asian store and a neat little Asian district; Denver's is huge. I love the stuff they sell at those places. And you can get pretty good one-hour massages for like $30 or so if there is an Asian massage place around the area.

We used to go to Ali Baba market also, great for buying our Jasmine tea and big bags of dried mint, the only place I could find those items.

Ali Baba is a great asset for San Antonio. I can find a lot of unique items there that are otherwise difficult to source.

But for a truly assorted variety of international products, I just WISH we'd get a Fiesta Mart here in San Antonio. The nearest one is off I-35 in the Southpark area of Austin.

You would think the demographics here in San Antonio would be attractive enough to Fiesta to open a location here......

Default Las Americas Latin Market

Las Americas Latin Market has a decent collection on food products from various Latin American countries. It's on San Pedro a bit south of North Star.
