im not looking for a repair, im looking to purchase a 65" or larger tv and wanted input on local stores. best buy has a 70" sharp aquos that im eyeballing but i think it might be a hair too big for the entertainment center its going on (currently there is a 65"((i believe)) mitsubishi DLP on it).

im looking to keep the cost under 2,700, but may go up to 3 grand if the price and features are good. specifically, im looking for something with network connectivity (wireless is a big plus, but an ethernet port will suffice) and netflix (netflix is a must actually and the aquos im eyeballing has netflix).

bjorns is out of the question, as they tend to be a bit overpriced in my opinion. wal mart doesnt carry anything decent in the 65+ inch range, so theyre out of the question also. is there anyone besides bestbuy that has a decent selection of tvs that also offers a good warranty replacement program with little to no hassle?

thanks and merry christmas to all!

Costco. They even double the factory warranty for no charge, then you can buy another 3 year replacement warranty...I believe it's 100 bucks for 3 years for any tv over 1000 bucks. That's a five year replacement warranty total. I bought one a few months ago, and have been very pleased.

thats really nice actually. membership is pretty cheap and the 5 year total warranty would still make up for the membership cost. is it possible they have a bigger selection in the store vs whats online?

i just have a bad taste for them after the remote fiasco they tried to overbill us on.

we have a URC mx900 and needed very light programming work done on it. all the codes for the devices we have are already programmed into the remote. they wanted to charge us almost a grand for the work we explained that we wanted done.

the rep who sold us the system (when we called him afterwards) laughed so hard i thought my cellphone's speaker would blow. of course, since URC made their software private (which i can understand, its not for the average computer user) and i lost the cd with the software on it, i cannot reprogram it myself.

i even searched more nefarious ways at obtaining the software, but what i found didnt have the addon for my specific model.

since im replacing the tv, im replacing the remote system with a harmony but am still undecided on which model i want.

You can also purchase those warranties (@ Costco) for TV's purchased elsewhere. The warranty is sold by Costco, but serviced by SquareTrade.

Sams, Costco, and Conn's are the only ones I know that carry anything that big (aside from the mentioned Bestbuy and Bjorns), or at least will have it in stock.
