Arrow Where to live in SA

Hi, I'm going to be moving to SA very soon. I'll be going to St mary's and I was hoping to get some advice as where to live.
I'd say around $900 or so per month for rent, someplace "safe" and decent. Just not someplace quiet and "dead".
I own a car so I don't mind commuting at all, just nothing longer than a 25min drive
I've looked through quite a few threads and apartment websites and I really can't be sure at all.

And thanks in advance!

I'd suggest just using an apartment locator honestly. With the amount you're willing to pay in rent and amount of time you're willing to commute you have a lot of options. A decent apartment locator will keep giving you options and visiting complexes with you until you find one you like.

I second getting an apartment locator service involved. Hope you enjoy your stay in SA.

Does St Mary's have a housing office or someone in Student Life who helps with housing? The area around the campus isn't the best, but it's on a street by street basis, some places are ok.

There are 2 nice areas that are convenient. (1) The area of Culebra just outside of 410. Culebra/Ingram/Potranco. (2) I10/Wurzbach. There is more around this area but it's a little further away.

BTW apartment locators get paid by the apartment buildings, so she doesn't charge you anything. Cheers.

Default San Antonio

Hello,

I'm in
Ohio and looking to move to San Antonio.
I talked to a woman that is with Rent.com and she
said to go North or West. South and East aren't safe.

Your woman is wrong. South is fine. I live on the north side but work on the south side. I would have no objections to living on the south side except my issue is that there isn't as much to do but that is quickly changing with the addition of the A&M campus there which is bringing in a lot of other businesses.

I would pick north or south before going with west or east. Northwest and northeast are fine as well.

I gotta tell you I live in Oakhaven heights/Kentwood Manor and I absolutely LOVE it. You will pay though for living here but it's quiet, safe and gives a sense of country living in the city.
