Smile Planning on moving to SA from NJ

We are planning on moving to SA in July, I'm just looking for any information to help us transition (I know it's hot In the summer lol) I do have family in SA and we will be moving to the 78250 area ~ we are considering opening a ny style deli (we just sold our deli here) my husband makes amazing Italian food~ any thoughts if this is even an option we should consider? Just trying to get a feel
For what we can Pursue once we get there, my husband has done hvac for over 20 years so we've found there's many job opportunities there....sorry for the ramble I greatly appreciate any insight!

Selfishly says...YES PLEASE!

Not a lot of competition here for something like that, but there may be a reason? I'm not sure how well something like that will be received here in SA, but I would certainly welcome it!

Good luck!

Ditto what Alamo Cpl said! Being from NY that would be something I personally would welcome. I live in 78254 and 78250 is right next door...yummmmmm!

Lol, my daughter had actually started a blog awhile back about it and we got an overwhelming response about the lack of a traditional style deli. Our deli here we served many fantastic sandwiches and dishes ~ we would also have your standard menu items as well but I guess we will have to see after we get there. My husband is an hvac mechanic for 20 years as well as a cook so I'm sure finding employment will be fine. We are so excited to be leaving this area, any other advise is greatly welcome! We have 2 younger kids 13 and 8 and our 25 yo will also be moving to SA with her bf ~ thanks again for your input!!!

A good deli would be a Very nice thing in this area. Just make sure you have steamed corned beef and pastrami, please, and some fresh bagels made in the store would also be nice.

thanks

live in 78250 and from philly area . it's a different world here, they're not big on sandwiches (you've got jason's deli, subway, schlotzki's ...) considering your average deli basically has some ham's, roast beef, turkey, bologna and maybe a hard salami . i'd kill for a real hoagie . like i said, it's just a different culture; i could set myself up as a king with the strombolis i make .

however, be sure to bring a couple cases of yuengling please .
you can't get it here .

i highly encourage you to research this forum and the internet about the zip code you're planning on moving into.

Does anyone actually like living in 78250?

Thanks! I'm finding a lot of people from up here that seemed to have move to SA, as for researching the zip code area ~ I haven't found anything bad although I haven't checked this forum~ my family lives in this area I reviewed the schools and they were great but any other info would be great. As for a deli we spoke to our suppliers and we can get the best pastrami and corned beef and many other cold cuts as well as the hot foods hubby can dish out (we still have customers 7 months after the sale call us for hubby to cater for them)-keep the info and input coming its all very helpful and truly appreciated
