I know there's a long thread on SA radio - but I want information about the 90's specifically. Those native San Antonians would know - was there a pure, true CHR station in the 90's? You know - a station that played the mass appeal hits (not rock/country/soft rock/r&b only - but a mixture) ???

I believe 102.7 KTFM was the general pop station. It played what ever was top 40. I could be wrong, every station back then kinda started playing musical chairs. Even 99.5 KISS changed its format for a while.

Well 98.5 The Beat, and Power 106.7 werent around in the 90's. I believe 96.1 started around 1998. The main station for anything top 40 during the 90's was KTFM 102.7.

I'd agree that KTFM was the station. They had a guy on there named The Janitor who was good.

Before they changed tower location, you could pick up MIX 94.7 out of Austin, they were a pretty good top 40 station (still are!)
