Health Careers IS a great school...I'm a graduate...but the standards aren't as high as they used to be. It used to be more like an actual college admissions process where "the best of the best" were admitted. Now they just have minimum standards -(C average in MS) and satisfactory attendance & disciplinary records. If you meet the minimum, you go into a lottery. A certain percentage of the slots always go to NISD students. I just wanted to clear up the admission policies. I think that you still get one of the best educations in the city, regardless of whether or not you decide to pursues something medical.
I took a PSAT prep class my 9th grade year...I think it was through Princeton Review. It was a good class and because of it I didn't have to take the SAT prep class and I got a 1300 (back when it was just the 2 sections).
One of the best things about the classes is that they teach the test (which has a negative connotation, I know) and you learn the instructions/methods backwards and forward so that you don't have to take time to read that during the test. They also teach methods to help you figure out the math questions easier.
Anyway...I recommend Princeton Review, but I know Kaplan has a great prep program as well.
