I know that the city of Leon Valley sits inside SA with zip code 78238. What I am confused about is that I will be moving to the NW side close to Alamo Ranch with Zip code 78254, which they also consider and is called Leon Valley too? Can somebody explain this? since in the map 78254 and 78238 are far away from each other. Thanks!

Go to the Bexar Appraisal District website & do a search on address of the property you will be moving to. It will indicate which municipality the property is located in (where it lists which entities collect taxes on the property). Also, look at the street signs. COSA street signs have a blue background. Other area municipalities are usually another color (often green).

Huh? Do you mean someone in Alamo Ranch is calling it Leon Valley? I'm confused.

But for the most part Leon Valley is a clearly defined municipality running along Rt 16 (Bandera Road) from approximately Callaghan Road just south of 410 all the way to Eckhert (map). That area is nowhere near Alamo Ranch.

The signs in Leon Valley do not differ from the signs in San Antonio proper.

Oh yes they do!

In Leon Valley proper, they Have a green background (vs. blue in San Antonio). I'm talking about the street name signs on the surface streets. The highway signs are placed by TxDOT, and are uniform (green background) across the State.

But the 78254 area is called Leon Valley too, which is right next to 78253, where Alamo Ranch is.

The street signs off of Evers aren't different...but I won't argue. It doesn't really matter.

The streets intersecting the east side Evers between Callaghan to just north of Wurzbach are in COSA and the street name signs for those streets should be blue.

I'm thinking between Huebner and Wurzbach. But, it also could be so early in the morning that I imagine them being different colors. For all I know they could be pink and I wouldn't know.

Actually it's called both. I have looked up businesses and others stuff in the 78254 area, and they listed as Leon Valley. Also I work for the Post Office, and the mail going towards 78254 is labeled as Leon Valley also.
