Yup, this Friday is for the family of the employees and friends at deltaco to have free food with the coupons that they gave them! I'll be there! Like it was previously stated, opening officially, September 4th.

So what's the big deal with Del Taco? What's good there?
Will a chain like that succeed in San Antonio, where we have delicious mexican food at hole-in-the-wall joints all over town?
What sets Del Taco apart?

Apparently they have burgers too? I'm not sure what the appeal is supposed to be but I won't judge it until I try it, just like with In N Out.
If anyone is gluten free or cares, I just checked out their menu and the only things gluten free are the milkshakes and fries.

It looks like there is a car using the drive-thru lane at In N Out.. so does that mean it is open already?

A coworker and I just had some Del Taco and it was great as usual. If you guys try it you will know the difference between it and say Taco Bell or Taco Bueno.

Would be awesome if Taco Casa was in San Antonio. I think the closest one is in Kerrville. Just ate at one in Greenville last week. YUM!

You meant hole in the wall tex-mex food not mexican. Trust me I've tried a lot of restaurants and they miss the mark on authentic mexican food. If I want real mexican food we just make it home and usually go out for other food.

I think Del Taco would do good in the long run. Out of the people we got a chance to talk to yesterday they all came from all parts of Cali so they'll definitely have those customers and maybe they'll win some new ones who haven't even heard of Del Taco.
