Hello everyone! I just found this board from doing a search on recommended moving companies in SA. I can't believe I have lived here for 6 years and didn't even know about it - of course I am not the most internet savvy. Anyways, we are moving from San Antonio to Dallas in the next two and a half weeks and are in need of an affordable moving company to help us with some packing and to move our belongings into a storage unit up in Dallas. Does anyone have any recommendations for movers? I have talked to some of the bigger lines and the prices are eye-opening!

There are companies (sorry, don't have any names) that will come and drop off a trailer. You pack and load everything and they come pick up the trailer and transport it to your destination. You unload everything and the trailer will be picked up. Have you called anyone like that? My friend used that type of service and saved a lot of money when she moved.

I wish we had the desire to pack and move things onto a truck/pod or the like. It just isn't going to happen on this move. It would certainly be a money saver.

I sent you a PM. Apparently, any move out of town is considered long distance. I moved back from Austin, on my own pocket for a change, and was in shock at the cost and regulations.
I did find a local who did it without all the hoop jumping.
