I drove by West Golden road. There is an empty lot right now behind the gas station. I assume that is where TK's Chinese restaurant used to be because nothing else around there looks like a restaurant. My historic aerials aren't working right now, though, so I can't check to see what was there.

I don't remember that one but I have recently discovered Lai Lai on the South side of De Zavala at Vance Jackson, it's a buffet but it is awesome, in my opinion the best in town.

The only one I remember is the one previously mentioned, TK's Chinese Restaurant. We used to eat there in High School and a friend of mine sometime waited tables there for extra money. It was above average Chinese fare. It was located in the shopping center behind the Post Office To was just to the right of the Corner Anchor property in that center.

So it was not on West Golden behind the gas station?

I'm not sure exactly where you are talking about. Was it in a strip center or stand-alone building? Is the building still there?

Okay, I searched and found an old web listing with the following address. Searching on that address and suite number now shows up as:
(1) Manuel's Mexican Grill, and previously as
(2) Las Fuentes Mexican Restaurant.
5999 De Zavala Rd Ste 136, San Antonio, TX 78249
