Default Best crispy tacos

I used to eat these more when I was a kid, but I've been on a recent kick again. I love them. Here are a few of the best around.

1. Teka Molino

2. Dairy Queen

3. Public school. (I know this sounds crazy but I used to really love the ones that were served in the cafeteria on alternating Wednesdays.)

I also loved the hard tacos in my elementary school. I was one of those strange kids that actually liked most of the food they served, except the macaroni and cheese, but that was my cousins fault...

so these DQ tacos are good? I don't think I ever even noticed them on the menu. They're not like those nasty fried taco things that Jack in the Box serves are they?

I wanna hear the macaroni and cheese story.....

you know what... I LOVE the Jack in the Box tacos.... I know it sounds nuts and I know I 'shouldn't' but .... I just do....

I think it has something to do with "the-24-hour-drive-thru-in-partying-days-getyousomegreasetogobbledownat2:30am-syndrome......."

DQ tacos are not like JITB (which I think are non-meat). They are very traditional tasting. Plus, they don't put any hot sauce on them like JITB. I've had some from more traditional Mexican restaurant that weren't nearly as good.

ok, you all have convinced me to try a DQ taco.

and No, you don't want to hear the macaroni and cheese story. I couldn't eat it for years afterwards and I love macaroni and cheese.. I still have to repress the memory any time I eat it...

The tacos at DQ are my favorite menu item. Well, aside from the Snickers Blizzard.

I honestly think the tacos at Taco Bueno are outstanding as well. The lettuce is always fresh and that makes for a good taco.

Also wanted ask about Henry's Puffy Tacos... They any good? How about the other food available there.

The name of the place alone makes my wife and kids giggle.

I haven't tried the newer location on Bandera Road, but the one on Woodlawn was pretty good. Puffy tacos are a little too greasy for me, at least the ones I've ever eaten, but their carne guisada (my "measuring stick" for good Mexican food) was tasty and not too salty. Have you taken your wife and kids to a Missions game--there is a taco that runs the bases, and that should really make them chuckle.
