I was wondering if anyone knew of those new neighborhoods down by lackland that are still considered safe and fmaily friendly?
I have to assume that most residents are young military families.
We found one house that is over 3000 sq ft, has EVERYTHING we want, but I just hate the placement is over there.

Does anyone know anything about those new neighborhood? It was off valley HI and ray ellison?

Valley Hi/Ray Ellison is not one of the "nicest" areas - There are some newer neighborhoods with bigger homes like you describe but they are surrounded by older, and often rundown neighborhoods. I happen to live in one of those neighborhoods, and knew exactly what I was getting myself into. In the last 3 years I have seen some changes for the better. They expanded the HEB, made a small shopping strip, and overall the area has cleaned up somewhat. With that being said, if you can afford to live in a "nicer" area with more amenitities in a better school district (if you have kids) then you should look into that.

I know several people who work at Lackland live in the 151/Sea World area because its a nicer area and still relatively close to the base.

Good Luck!
