I'd like to kick around this coming weekend (Sunday perhaps?) and would like to know of a place where I can just go and kick around. I'm looking for the North Central/East side of town but don't know the area that well.

Can anyone help? A park perhaps? Some actual soccer fields?

Used to be pick-up games at the Medical Center off Babcock every Sunday morning around 9:30 or 10:00. Also check McAllister Park soccer fields for on-going games.

looking at relocating to bandera. What are the youth soccer programs like? My son currently plays academy (which is between rec and the cost you an arm and a leg/select step). Looking for a good program to keep developing kiddo as long as he's willing to play

There's a league that used to play at Retama on Sundays, although driving by a few days ago it looked all torn up

Medical Center fields at babcock and Louis Pasteur frequently have pick up games any day of the week.

for your son try:

ayso (alamo area youth soccer)

if you both wanted to play on a team together...star soccer complex puts together teams all the time.

My son plays for the SA Fusion.. They practice over at ACYSO on 1516 so not far from the sea world area.
