Good suggestions so far. I do all my doing with my own little buddy in a stroller, and these recommendations take that into account. Institute Of Texan Cultures is fantastic, air conditioned, and would pair well with a tower and La Villita visit. Casa Navarro is a very neat look into mid-1800 San Antonio and absolutely gorgeous. Definitely Pearl and River North. Take them for a beer and ceviche at Friendly Spot or lunch at Liberty Bar and walk around King William. What kinds of things do you think they'll be into? Art, history, food, architecture? Oh, and check out the guides on saculturalttours.com

If you have a day to spare, you should definitely tale the family to Canyon Lake! Maybe do some fishin' or go parasailing (which I tried once and will most definitely be doing it again!). Canyon Lake is one of SA's best hidden gems IMO. Hope you and your family have a great time!

On Sat the 14th and Sun the 15th Boerne is having it's Market Days downtown, on Main street, in the town square...

It's a nice little walk around to see crafts, hear some music, have some fun... Then walk up and down Main Street... Go for some lunch... Have some frozen yogurt at Kuhl... Maybe visit the new public library to cool off a bit and let the baby play with some board puzzles or look at some picture books...

I guarantee they will LOVE Boerne and the charming feel of Main Street... Everytime I drive down Main I love it just a little bit more and considering we have been living in the area for almost 4 years, that's alot of love...

Here is the link for Market Days if you are interested...

Enjoy your visit with your family!!!

My suggestion is a simple one but I've always enjoyed going to McAllister Park for a nice walk.

Wimberley is a neat little small town too.

If they are into shopping, there are the outlet malls in San Marcos.

Restaurants that take into consideration your little one:
The Cove - delicious!!! they have an outdoor seating area with a playground for the kids.
La Gloria - great authentic mexican street food by the pearl... also a nice grass area for kids.
La Fonda - is a great place to sit outside, it's beautiful and delicious mexican food.

Also, "The Friendly Spot" - it is an outside bar, but your sister is old enough and it's a cool hangout spot and kid friendly.. on wednesday's they have outdoor movies (kid friendly) and they also have a kid playground.. food is served as well.

Have fun!!

oh you could tube or kayak the guadalupe too - look up "Guadalupe canoe livery" up 281.

For your kiddo (and I think it's fun for adults too) there is the safari adventure further up 281 in Johnson City - very cool!! You get to feed all sorts of wildlife while being driven around on a large open bus type of thing. The Exotic Resort Zoo - Johnson City, TX - Central Texas Hill Country - Bed & Breakfast - Animal Zoo
