Yesterday about 10:00 am, I was driving down IH 35 south. As I passed the overpass that goes into BAMC, I saw somebody in uniform holding what appeared to be a radar gun. As I continued toward Splashtown, I saw at least five SAPD cars, marked and unmarked pulling over motorists. Anyone else seen this?

Yea, I have seen them on 410 close to 281 headed towards the airport also. Common in Houston as well.

Good, we need more of this. Many people in San Antonio have come to disregard speed limits and routinely exceed freeway speed limits by 15-20 MPH.

But the left lane is for passing only. If you are doing the speed limit and just cruising in the left hand lane, you ARE impeding the flow of traffic and should be ticketed. If you arnt passing some one, and want to drive the speed limit stay to the right. Its not your job to police the highway, they have people for that....

i have never been in the left lane and there wasnt a car to the right of me, so by your logic, im always passing people.

now, that being said, the speed limit is the speed limit. just because YOU want to pass someone doesnt give YOU the right to disobey the speed limit to pass someone.

/pass someone all you want at the maximum legal speed limit
//you go above it, youre breaking the law.

I never claimed it was legal to speed. However like I said before, its not your duty to police to highway, If you want to go the speed limit, stay to the right(as the law says)

actually, the signs (and law) say slow traffic keep to the right. since i am doing the limit, i am not going slow.

we can argue semantics all day long, but the point is there is no reason for you to exceed the speed limit in the speed lane unless its a life or death emergency.

Actually, that's speed enforcement; not a speed "trap." The latter doesn't exist, people are caught because they are exceeding the posted speed limit. It's not a "trap," they're the ones putting themselves in the position of being caught by breaking the law...
