Any of the lofts/apts in downtown or Southtown. You can walk to work.

Just to second the recommendations so far: you definitely don't want to live near Austin if you will be working downtown San Antonio. Commute could be easilty be 1 hour or more each way. Agree about living either downtown or by the Quarry.

There are many apartments in Downtown San Antonio, I am fond of South-town. It is a really trendy-artsy scene with many food options and is about five minutes from downtown and the riverwalk. They also have many music venues and a block-party like art revue known as first friday.
