Thanks for the pics MJR. At list the images of these buildings are being preserved. I wish there was some way to preserve the buildings.

WOW! Great photos EOakes. Where did you get them? Do you have any more details on the history of the Dibble's Company? In the second photo you can see the Transit Tower in the background. I wonder how old that building is?

My wife is the owner of the pictures. She is the granddaughter and great-niece of the owner brothers, Kimberly and Orlando Dibble. The brothers sold the store and rights to the name in the 1950s and the current store is located on Donaldson Avenue near Jefferson High School. The original store backed up to the SA River where the Hilton Palacio is now located.

Anybody have a shot of what was Randy's Rodeo? I think its the bingo hall on Bandera. It was the where the very last Sex Pistols show happened. Sid Vicious smashed his guitar into some fool's head and the band was done. Also, there is a clip on youtube of the '68 hemisfair, it is a promo clip and you see what the area around the Tower looked when it was new, also shows water skiers inthe lagoon and the monorail and the skyride.

Here's a recent shot of Randys (well, the sign anyway) I took while taking pics of MCM digs in Oak Hills (I saw the Beastie Boys there in 85 or 86, the "Licensed to Ill" tour -man, I feel OLD!) :
