The beneficial nematodes worked really well for our tick problem last spring, and they seem to do well for fleas, too.

The main thing, though, is to get the dogs on a good monthly treatment, such as Frontline, Advantage, etc. That more than anything, even spraying, will go furthest in treating the problem.

I also wash the dog beds frequently, and I put some borax in the wash to help kill eggs. So far so good this year.

I would never use DE powder in my house. I use it in my pool however.

I just call pest control. Problem solved.

I got the food grade DE....they actually feed it to animals and I've even read of people drinking it. It won't stay much longer, I'll vacuum it up in a couple of days.

Wash the dogs with a pure liquid castille soap - not detergent - and you will see them dropped dead in the rinse water. It's a wonderful sight!

Now that I'm thinking about it, I would imagine this works with bedding as well, though I haven't tried it.

As for a keeping them off regimen, I have found Advantage works really well. You can order it online for ALOT cheaper than you can get if from a vet.

DO NOT use pool DE for your pets...it's not the the same DE.

Make sure you are getting Food Grade DE for your pets.

Went looking for DE yesterday but did not have any luck. Found several products with DE in it but not a substantial amount. Does anyone know where to buy it?

We have this crop up every so often. Make sure the pets are on a monthly treatment, spray the house with sentinal, vacuum the hell out of the carpets for awhile, and treat the yard.

Try Lockhill Feed on Golden Quail off of Huebner. That's where I got mine.

I bought some food grade at Whole Foods last year. You might try there too.

For your yard you might try garlic powder. One year I had horrible fleas due to our neighbors dog having a ton of fleas. I heard about using garlic powder to drive them from your yard and it worked!
