Hey all I received a plant/ tree from a friend at work and ive had it at my desk for some time now...figured i bring it home and plant it...but before i do i want to know what it is...any clue?

I think you might be right, I did get the tree around christmas time... from reading up on it...i wont be transplanting it to my yard. grows in excess of 100ft...eek

I had one many years ago. I don't recall how big they could grow.
I have a
fiddle leaf fig (Ficus) I was given recently to deal with. I already have a weeping fig (Ficus) with no place to put it.

This one was actually a desk tree at my work but Im having surgery on the 8th and when i was out for emergency surgery in march no one bothered to look over her or even give her a drink of water...almost lost her.
so i decided it would be best to bring her home. So i can have my husband water her.lol. The weeping Figs are awesome. My husband and I normally dont do well with plants but weve actually become pretty amazing at it in the recent year...we managed to keep our garden alive so far. We picked our first Jalepeno pepper! (We dont eat them, thought it would be cool to grow them though..my mother inlaw was our taste tester and she said it was delicious)

I supplied the neighborhood with peppers a few years back. Now I'm not gardening again til I build some raised gardens. I grew Poblanos, Serranos and Jalapeno i think!
My weeping fig came from the old Fort Sam Bank. An old friend was a teller there many years ago. My thumbs are pretty green.

sweet! we made our first bowl of salsa from the garden...freshest salsa ever. We had a few tomatoes, the peppers, some onion delicious. we managed to even take a cucumber it was rather tasty. Im happy to have given gardening a try. I think next year we will do the black tarp..its been a nightmare trying to keep grass out of there. Mulch just isnt enough.

I have a 
so i decided it would be best to bring her home. So i can have my husband water her.lol. The weeping Figs are awesome. My husband and I normally dont do well with plants but weve actually become pretty amazing at it in the recent year...we managed to keep our garden alive so far. We picked our first Jalepeno pepper! (We dont eat them, thought it would be cool to grow them though..my mother inlaw was our taste tester and she said it was delicious) 
I want to build some kind of raised beds in my backyard and grow some food, too.
