Hi all,

I will be part of two aerial silk trios performed at 8pm and 11:30pm on Saturday at the Hemisfair Park arch during Luminaria.

I am looking for someone who has a good quality digital SLR camera with the skill to take great motion shots outside at night time with various lighting, and possibly from far away. I'd rather find an amateur who charges less than a professional. It would be a great event to get experience, especially since it's centered around art!

The performances are about 10 mins each. I would like to be able to have all of the photos digitally and the rights to them afterward, but of course would not mind the photographer using them for portfolio or whatever they'd like to do with them.

Anyone have any ideas? relatives? friends?

Thanks!

What’s your budget? Sounds like you are on a lean budget since you are not necessary looking to hire a professional photographer.

Try asking at the SAC photography dept. and the Southwest School of Art. I've always had luck finding good people both places. I'll be there, but my skillz are not so great.

That's why I'm on city data and not google searching for photographers. I want someone who does it as a hobby and would like to take a very short project on. It's literally 20 minutes of photograph time. I don't need them edited or anything. That's why I'm looking for someone who enjoys photography as a hobby but also has a nice camera. A college student would be a perfect candidate. Thank you for your suggestions, IntentionallyBlank.

You had me interested....up until you wanted the rights to the pictures.

I can't imagine anyone willing to give that up if they have any aspirations....

There will be some folks who are desperate enough to give that away for nothing. Donít do it unless you are getting paid handsomely.

To me the value of the work is more than just time spent on it. If Van Gogh spent 3 hours painting something, would that cost the same as some no name artist who also spent 3 hours on it?

This is very exciting that one of ours will be performing. I would imagine that others here would share the same enthusiasm. If I had a decent camera, accessories, more than one SAC class in photography, and more experience in action photography other than the Twain Middle School girl's volleyball team I would volunteer. Good luck, those of us there will be sure to enjoy.
