I am on that side of town too but don't know of a bakery which I would recommend. One that I know for sure in on the Roland and Rigsby area next to a molino that makes good cakes.

I was going to suggetst Lucy's Cake Shop... I have gotten most of my 3 kids cakes there... I personally am partial to the Chocolate Cake with Bavarian Cream filling and my 16 year old is partial to the White Cake with Strawberry filling...

I live in the Boerne area and I still drive that far for Lucy's cakes... BUT I think it is probably too far if you are on the NE side of town...

Lucy's has 2 locations... 1 on SW 410 and on on SW Military...

I wish I had a suggestion for you for the NE side, I just don't frequent that area enough... How about Nadler's? Not sure where that is in proximity to you...

Good Luck and Happy Birthday to your baby!!!

Or....Marie Callender's on IH-35 near Walzem next to Shoney's and Red Lobster. Their cakes are to die for...

Costco - and then buy extra cake accessories and personalize it!

Friend of mine told me a few days ago that there was a fire at Lucy's. Don't know if true or how big if it is true.

D'Pasteles in Universal City does fondant, if that's what you're looking for.

Home bakeries are now legal in TX, you might ask around and see if your neighbors know any cake ladies if you're looking for less expensive and fancy.

Yup...they passed a cottage food law last year. It's for non-hazardous foods only, meaning nothing that has to be refrigerated, and your customer has to come to your house, and there's a few requirements for labeling, but it's still great

Make it extra special and make one yourself! Start a tradition with your daughter and make one every year on her birthday....my mom did every year until she passed away, and it was always very much appreciated. Happy Birthday to your daughter!
