The Austin Highway HEB compared to Oak Park, Lincoln Heights and Central Market considering the Clientele is most certainly ghetto, or coming from a lower socioeconomic background than the other stores.

That HEB was a Handy Andy into the at least into the late 80's. It has a very cool deli and wine section, which they retained the wood floors from the "wine cellar" section. Still has that small town, in touch with the customer feed to it. Ghetto-B on Austin Highway is closer to where I live, but I still go to HEB Northridge more. The Ghetto clientele at the Austin Highway store is sometimes too much to handle, especially when the LoneStar cards get credited. One of these days, the "trash" will get taken out.

I think the majority of the Handy Andy's closed in the early 90's if I recall, with some closing by the mid 90's.

I know the one at West Ave/ Basse was there within the last decade. There is still one in Schertz now I think.

Yes the one at West and Basse closed around 2004 or so, it seems the most profitable ones were the last to go. I know that was a small handy andy but it was always busy.
