Chaka,

Thanks for the info. I was just thinking that coming from that direction (from the south toward 10) the bulk of the traffic would be heading south toward Lackland or coming into the city from the Northwest and 1604 into the city. Just need to remember SA isn't a one or 2 major employer city.

Lackland is definitely not the only employer and is located far west of downtown. The commute from downtown to Lackland is against traffic. From Sea World to Lackland there may or may not be traffic, but not everyone works at Lackland.

410 heading towards I10 is coming into town, and is the major route from the west/NW into downtown. It definitely has heavy traffic in the am, and the reverse in the pm. Perhaps not as bad as other cities, but you are definitely going with the flow.

Most of San Antonio's major employment centers and traffic destintations are in the I-10 corridor (Medical Center, downtown, USAA, UTSA, Valero, etc.), so that's the nexus for most peak period traffic. Loop 410 west of I-10 will be heaviest eastbound in the AM and westbound in the PM; the opposite for Loop 410 east of I-10.
