None-The best kept secret in Texas- SB pop is approx 30,000 in a great city. This makes it probably in the top five largest universities in Texas

5th largest in Texas last year. Not sure about this year. Admissions are tougher for Fall '08 than ever before. The school is changing very fast. Lots off construction going on as the campus is expanding. It is becoming internationally recognized for research, and has recruited top professors from all over the world in the past couple of years. Students attend UTSA from all across the US and over 90 different countries. I'm from only about 400 miles away, but there are literally people here from all over the world.

As far as cons, the tuition and fees keep rising. I have no problem with this as I am on scholarship, but it is not the cheapest school to attend. Also if you do not live on (or near) campus, parking will be a nightmare. I hear that is the case at almost all college campuses.

I was reluctant to choose UTSA at first, but I am really glad that I did. If you have any specific questions or need info. feel free to ask.

A commuter school located in the nicer part of SA (Northwest). Pretty nice campus, in my opinion. I understand there's been a lot of building since I last was there (2003). I really enjoyed the campus - I was a grad student at UTHSCSA (health sci center), but used to go to UTSA library to write all my papers. I think its a pretty decent school. When I was there it felt like a community college.

UTSA is UT in the '80's, with way more funding. With all the building and additions, the campus is now the nicest out of any UT system school.

It is by no means a "commuter" school anymore. At least not in my opinion. Lots of students live on campus or in the many apartments nearby. There is ample events and activities on campus. Student life is great. Tons of active clubs and organizations. Only about half the students are actually from the local area now. All in all it is a very active school. The school has done a good job of changing this in just a few years. I am glad of this, as I don't like the idea of a major university falling to the ranks of a "commuter" school. UTSA offers the full college experience (football excluded... though not for long).

It also has an AACSB fully accredited Business school, something a lot of the other local expensive universities (St. Mary's excepted) can't say.
