I should have posted this before the previous one. I too am saddened by the tragedy yesterday morning. The thought of the two innocent boys is extremely sad. We need to pray, as I know we will, for those that are now gone and even more for the Husband and Father.

Although this may not be the time to mention this I will. I have no idea what it would be like to have a troubled marriage (although My Wife and I have our ups and downs and along with that a 20 year old Son who has his days) or even the thought of a spouse being deployed and the worries that come with that. I ofen wonder why we don't have Social Events at our Community Center like most HOA's do. Just something to get a Couple out of their home for the evening, put their issues behind them or even take a break from their children. Even classes or talks of some sort. I feel certain that we have MANY Folks that deal with Family Issues (as a profession) that live here in Westcreek that would be willing to donate their time for a group of interested people for advice /help /guidance. I have been to Friend's HOA's that have Casino Night's / Bingo and you would be amazed at the great people you meet. Several years ago our Village had a Chartered a Bus to the Texas Trasure Cruise which gave us the opportunity to meet some of our neighbors. I find nothing more impressive within a neighborhood than neighbors having the chance to interact. I feel fourtunate that I have a few neighbors that I talk to when we catch each other outside. Oh sure the conversations may be started with something said about our yards but they turn to more important issues such as kid's, the ups and downs of everyday life, money situations, etc. I usually walk away feeling much better since I was given the chance to vent and also be given advice.

I will send the Community Manger an email and bring this suggestion up and stress the importance of it. The Karate and Exercise Classes are fine but as I stated there are more important issues for a Community.

Something tells me to Delete this message but it is a thought. Maybe my suggestion would help or maybe not but it is something worth trying.

I heard a siren as well, some time around 5:00 AM. Hopefully there wasn't a copycat out there.

As I type this there are sirens blaring either down Westcreek Oaks or Military. Hopefully they are just passing through WC. I would hate to think that there are any problems out there.

Have you had any luck with the sale of your home? We have three up for sale on our street. The one that I am most saddened by is our neighbor that is a retired USAF Colonel. She lives alone in one of the largest if not the largest home on the street. She is the original owner,a little over ten years, and has been a great neighbor. Even though we haven't talked lately I'm sure she wants to downsize or even move to be closer to Family. The other two have been shown many times but there are a couple of faults that Folks really don't like. One has the Master downstairs and the other one has a picturesque view (I'm kidding about the view as it is far from picturesque) of an abandoned ranch that is visible from the upstairs. Both homes have sold before (one four times) so there is no doubt they will sell again.

I can only hope the we can get some great new neighbors.
We are not selling. No hurry to sell. There's no mortgage. Just added another rental

I saw your rental application. While unusual, the requirement that any renter own at least 22" rims will probably add a lot of character to the neighborhood.

On the HOW website, it says it is scheduled for April 10th at the Community Center starting at 10:00 am till 1:00 pm.

I did locate it on the Homeowner Association website but it only give you the date and time. I don't think the Association wants homeowners to know about this that is why it has low visiblity.

I'm sorry for my premature question. Yes you are correct it is on April 10th.
I agree with you that the HOA /BOD want this to be low keyed but most of us have already made our minds up. I just wanted to mingle and have some of the free snacks. Just Kidding about the snacks.
I looked on our website (VOWC) and although they give a date for the Annual Meeting there is no time. ????? Makes you wonder.....
Although I have put the cart before the horse I am a little worried about the Annual Meeting and the attendance. I expect a large turnout and say that this years crowd cannot be gauged on the previous years. If we max the Community Center out then some Folks will have to be turned away unless they pipe into an outside speaker and then those that were turned away can sit out by the pool and listen. To be serious they should have planned this a little better and tried to set something up with one of the local schools. Lord knows they had enough time.
Since I have never been to the pool in all our time living here I wonder if you can have snacks and drinks there? I guess I better bring some just in case.
