Dude, I think it is awsome about the excitement this election has generated! Again, I gotta say "'THANK YOU HOW" for putting the spotlight on the election. I think we are going to see records set on proxies and number of votes cast at the meeting tonight.

Gotta a reminder message from Cher and the HOW Leaders will be wearing yellow shirts with their logo tonight, so I want to personally look for them to thank them for what they have done.

See ya tonight!

Can anyone tell me how the voting process works? Do we walk into the office vote and leave or do we have to sit through the entire meeting? When will we know who won?

I think they have a plan agenda. At some point the candidates will have a couple of minutes to address the floor. There may be some candidates nominated from the floor as well. Then the vote takes place and they count the ballots and let us know who won. They are also from what I understand will have Sheriff Lopez as a guest speaker. This is the only meeting that we as homeowners can make motions on any topic of concern and put it before the members in good standing for a vote. They will give out the new standards that we must be in compliance with.

Thanks Common. Sounds like it may be a long evening. I think I may have to send my husband since I have younger children. But regardless someone in my household will be there to represent us and vote.

The meeting was okay tonight. Biggest news...new Standards are out. A big change in those is that yard sales are now allowed, with restrictions.

not to sound critical; but the whole point of the annual meeting is not just to vote, but to see and learn about what is going on in our community. You should want to know what is going on around you, your neighbors, property values and how your overall quality of life could be effected. It's only once a year....if everyone could at least make time to participate once a year and be active......it could make a big difference.:-)

The funniest part was listening to the "it's all good" speech by developer/salesman Tom Rhode. People were very angry about him putting the payday loan place at Madison's Market and how that appears in our area. He said it was the highest grossing payday loan place in town, which is a sad reflection of this part of town. People were frustrated b/c he has promised before to bring nicer restaurants and businesses to the Potranco/1604 area... but with the economy tanking, it won't happen for awhile. It seems Culebra/1604 gets everything. He said something about it taking 5 years for our area to bounce back...maybe once the road widening actually is done.
