goodman- Thank you for the information.

I guess the support for being able to go onto someone's property to mow the yard, as one example, is spelled out in the "Texas Property Letter". I'll have to read more about this.

I know that various entities, COSA, SAWS, etc. have the right to go onto properties to correct City of San Antonio Code Violations. I'm not certain about our HOA having that authority (that's why I need to educate myself further) although I would be for it since that may be the only way for violations to be corrected. I make the comment about having authority since there was an issue with a downed fence on Military near Westcreek Oaks a while back (after the responsibility for repair fell soley upon the Property Owner) and the HOA said they couldn't repair it. The issue of Tresspassing came up on this issue.

I'm certain you will agree that a very forceful well written letter spelling out the potential outcome if a violation is not corrected would be enough to lite a fire under someone's butt. The letter wouldn't have to be wriiten by our Attorney ($$$$$$$) but our BOA /HOA Staff. It should also be sent Registered Mail.

I too don't like the fact that children when escorted by their Parent(s) have to show ID in order to use the pool.

Wondering if anyone know the answer to this:
Texas state minimum wage is $7.25 an hour. The Westcreek website is hiring for gate guards and standards monitors at $7.00. Are there special laws that make them exempt?

Are you referring to this?:

If so, it is outdated (January 2009). The minimum wage increased to $7.25/hour effective July 24, 2009.

Not bad pay for checking Id's compared to what California's Governor wants to pay their state workers the same amount.

Oh, sorry. I didn't even think to look at the date.

It is my "understanding" that they are paid for mileage. Again an "understanding"

We (SAWS) pay 50 cents / mile if you own car is used and of course you HAVE to be insured.

Why would WC HOA pay mileage to gate guards? Mileage is paid when you use your own vehicle for company business and only driving to/from work would not qualify for this.

I'm glad you saw my error and brought it to my attention.

I was focused on the Standard's Monitor's who are paid mileage (unless something has changed).
