No....you will be fine ...... 281 is a highway with no overpasses and 46 is a breeze. I drive it all the time as I have 2 children at Smithson Valley HS...you will drive right by it:-) Have a great trip!!!!

I know what you mean....there is one overpass almost into Austin....going the back from 290 transitioning to Hwy 1....It is so high that it is all I can do to not close my eyes!!!! Everytime I feel as if I am dangling over the city!!!

I know the one you mean. I drove it one time and then had to pull over to side of the road and give myself CPR! I've managed to avoid them all since then because I know alternate routes. I haven't driven in San Antonio in 40 years and I'm pretty sure it has changed a little since then.

Yes, San Antonio has pretty much been under continual road construction for those 40 years. None of the projects are complete, but everything looks a LOT different.

If you fear high overpasses, then do not go near the I10, Loop 410 interchanges on the Northwest side. They're high, narrow, and usually someone is tailgating you.

Also avoid the 281/35 interchange right now. They are doing work on it right now and the lanes are extra thin!
