Agree Trainwreck. I don't understand why people wouldn't think they would get a bill. Heck, Sears will come out for $95 just to tell you your problem. They then will credit the $95 to your total $400 ice maker replacement. lol

Another thing I don't understand is why are there 10 pages on this thread.

EMS will only bill if they perform a "service". "Service" can be described as something as simple as taking blood pressure. But if they come out, you "refuse" service they will not bill you

We had to use Acadian Ambulance for transport from one hospital to another, God help me.

City of SA EMS is out of network. So make sure when you call, you wait around for an in-network ambulance transport, if there is any in this city.

if the person's heart rate was very fast it could be a jag of SVT which would have to be evaluated. It's good they called the EMS. It didn't seem like it was just a blood pressure thing.

Doctor though I was having a stroke. Instead of letting the wife drive me 2 miles to the hospital, called the ambulance. 2 mile trip equalled $1500 bill.

Unless you are DYING, don't call EMS.
