I have a large number of award plaques sitting in a box for the past 20 years.
Is there somewhere in San Antonio where the plaques could be recycled?

I would hate to throw all the wood away.

If they are all wood and no metal, put them in the green recycle bin, not the blue one. If they have metal on them, take off the metal and put the metal in the blue bin and the wood in the green bin.

They don't want scrap metal in the curbside recycling. From the city website the acceptable metals are:

aluminum drink cans
aluminum baking tins
steel or tin food cans and lids
empty aerosol cans

I don't think the wood would be acceptable in the green/composting bin. The website says they don't want treated wood. The only types of wood on the acceptable list are chopsticks, popsicle sticks, and yard trimmings.
