An Amber Alert was issued this morning for a 6-year-old who was believed kidnapped.
The boy, Simon Weyman, was last seen in Live Oak. He's described as Anglo, about 3-feet 4-inches tall, weighing about 90 pounds and with blond hair and brown eyes.
Police are looking for four men who may be driving a dark-colored, four-door sedan — possibly a Toyota, Mazda or similar import model — with a green and white bumper sticker on the back bumper.

Purely speculative, but considering the information given I would suspect that this is the result of some kind of domestic/custodial dispute...

Regardless, I hope the boy is safely returned home as soon as possible.

The amber alerts and the article are now saying Selma instead of Live Oak.
The vehicle is believed to be a red 1990 Toyota Celica GT Texas License plate CG5G973

The more news that comes out, it appears a domestic dispute----grand mother keeping child, mother may or may not have been married, etc. Is the child really in grave danger or is this a " Cry Wolf" and burdening the pubic with an Amber Alert so that when a real abduction occurs, we are insensitive?

They got 4 adults and a little kid in a 1990 Celica?

The updated amber alert says they're looking for Melissa Wayman, age 40, and the Celica...so sounds like a custody issue.

You'd be surprised how many people we've squeezed into a Toyota Celica!

But back to the topic at hand, if the child is indeed being held by the parent, there's a much better chance he is safe. Not that it isn't a bad situation, but there is a big difference between a child who has been abducted in a domestic dispute versus one that has been grabbed by someone who is less likely to protect them (that's about as delicate as I can put it)...
