Looking to get a home surveillance system. Have found some online but would prefer professional installation and looking for recommendations.

My dad's truck was stolen right from in front of our house sometime late Sunday night/early Monday morning. Police still haven't found it and I have several speculations as to where it is at this moment. So my dad decided to set up a camera he has in an upstairs window and hook it up to an external hard drive and we've got some suspicious vehicles that keep showing up. Already reported to the police.

Anyway....looking to get some sort of system that will tie in several cameras and record to a DVR/hard drive of some kind and looking for recommendations of businesses in San Antonio that will also install.

If you can wait a bit and are a Time Warner Cable customer, they'll soon be offering 'smart home' installation with ip-based cams, sensors, etc that are all hooked into a DVR and streamable live on the web from your mobile device. Best of all, you can bundle the cost into your cable television package.

Not sure what the window is for this service, but they're already rolling it out in the NE part of the USA.

Thanks for the info....will keep it in mind, but need to find a solution now due to recent activities at home.

Technology rollouts like that can take years. Look at how long it took them to field a whole home DVR, wait, have they done that yet?
